Sailing through the Baltic Sea on the traditional sailing vessel Belle Amie.

Belle Amie was built in 1915 at the van der Windt brothers' shipyard in Vlaardingen, NL. In 1927 she received her first engine, and was then sold by the Ritscher company from Moorburg to Sweden.
There the ship initially served in fishing as Helga, as a cargo ship in the archipelago around Gothenburg as Prins Axel, and from 1968 as Belle Amie as a sail training ship for a nautical school.
The historic sailing ship has survived two world wars and several economic crises and presents herself today at least as proudly and authentically as she did over 100 years ago.

Baltic Sea Short Week with Belle Amie
Ahoy, an unforgettable day trip to the Flensburg Regatta starting from Sonderborg in Denmark is now behind me.
For me as a sailing novice with a bit of experience, this trip was very interesting. Everything was just right – the weather, the wind at force 5 and the crew.
Special thanks also to Mareike who welcomed me and was tirelessly in action. On deck manoeuvring the ship, below deck serving us with delicious food
and of course to all the other crew members too.
We could all lend a hand, setting and taking in the sails, and the repeated weather-related tacking of the ship was a wonderful enrichment, and so it was a very lovely experience to be allowed to be part of the crew.
