Sicily with Aeolian Islands and Stromboli Volcano on Sun Odyssey 449
Book the best berths now, Sicily is also very popular with sailors in 2026!
Lovely anchorages, unspoilt islands, active volcanoes, fumaroles, crystal-clear water, spectacular nature are just some of the reasons why the Aeolian Islands are so popular with sailors.
The Aeolian Islands region is characterised by diversity; the islands could not be more different: in Vulcano, fumaroles and sulphur springs bubble even underwater, including right at the harbour; on Lipari, volcanic glass – obsidian – is mined amongst other things; and Panarea is the party VIP island with impressive and well-hidden luxury villas. Unspoilt and somewhat forgotten by tourism are Filicudi and Alicudi, barren and impressive at the same time, sparsely populated. Salina is known as the home of capers and ceramic work. The very active Stromboli, more than 900 metres high, erupts approximately every 15 minutes and glowing lava rocks roll down the northern slope. If possible, we also like to watch this impressive spectacle at night.
Our sailing trips are 'active sailing' and all work on the boat is done together; as a team we trim our catamaran for a brisk passage;
The starting point is Capo d'Orlando, the marina is easily accessible by air, train, transfer or car.
From Capo d'Orlando we reach the Aeolian Islands in 3 to 4 hours.
We meet on Saturday from approximately 4:00 pm at the yacht, or later depending on arrival; we cast off on Sunday morning – after breakfast.
Comfortably equipped Sun Odyssey 449 or Sun Odyssey 519 with plenty of space, several WC shower rooms and also an outside shower, sun awning, fridges, cooking facilities, dinghy, towels, outboard motor, deposit insurance, GPS, etc.
