West Sicily → Mallorca | Offshore passage trip across the Mediterranean – Cigale 14

This trip marks the conclusion of "Maverick's" Mediterranean route. From the west coast of Sicily we sail across the open Mediterranean back to the Balearic Islands.
The route takes us through the western Mediterranean and includes longer passages at sea. Depending on weather and conditions, we may be underway for several days, completing a genuine Mediterranean crossing.
The trip is characterised by passage sailing, watch systems and shared navigation – exactly as experienced on longer voyages.
With our arrival in Mallorca, Maverick's great Mediterranean voyage finally comes to an end.

The boat
We sail on the Cigale 14 "Maverick", a fast aluminium cruising yacht from the renowned Finot-Conq design stable. These yachts combine performance, safety and comfort and are ideally suited to longer passages at sea.
The crew is deliberately kept small – a maximum of five crew members – so that everyone can actively participate in the sailing.

Sailing and life on board
During the passage the crew organises itself in a watch system, as is customary on longer voyages.
Everyone aboard can actively participate:
- Navigation and weather observation
- Sail manoeuvres
- Onboard routine during watches

The trip thus offers an opportunity to experience offshore sailing in the Mediterranean at first hand.

The only thing not included is the crew's personal provisions, which are organised jointly.

Sailing Insights
