SAILING TRIP SARDINIA / COSTA SMERALDA
SAILING BETWEEN SARDINIA AND CORSICA
Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean, surrounded by hundreds of smaller and larger offshore islands. Its proximity to Corsica, separated only by the approximately 6.5 nautical mile wide Strait of Bonifacio, opens up one of the most beautiful sailing areas in Europe. The area offers good wind conditions throughout the season. Between the many small islands you can expect moderate conditions, whilst between Sardinia and Corsica a natural "funnel" frequently produces 1-2 wind forces more, also making sportier sailing possible.

SAILING AREA
You start your trip in the northeast of Sardinia, more precisely in Portisco. The impressive island world of the Maddalena Archipelago and the 'Îles Lavezzi' awaits you. A week of pure sailing pleasure and scenic highlights can begin!
With its wild rock formations and picturesque beaches, this coast conveys an almost Caribbean flair. The Maddalena Archipelago with its rugged coastal landscape and dreamy harbour towns, the Ile Cavallo with its magnificent bays, and the Corsican 'Îles Lavezzi' further out in the 'Strait of Bonifacio' must not be missed in your sailing trip planning.
A great bathing stop can be made, for example, in the Cala Corsara, where the Scoglio del Bulldog invites the brave to cliff jumping and the light blue water to swimming, SUP and snorkelling.
In La Maddalena you stroll through the typical Italian alleyways and enjoy a good espresso and a delicious gelato. You can round off the evening in a restaurant with a lovely vino and, for example, a local speciality such as Pane Frattau, before continuing the next day.
Two lovely anchorages for the night are also Soiaggia dell'Alberello or Spiaggia dell'isola Piana, which in calm weather offer wonderful evenings and plenty of bathing fun in the morning before breakfast and invite you to take a dip in the cool water.
And of course Bonifacio itself, the most spectacular natural harbour in the world: here architecture and nature are united in a magnificent stage setting. Bonifacio lies at the southern tip of Corsica and towers like a fortress about 70 m above the water. At the town's cliff you can let the sailing day pass in review over a delicious drink and a wonderful sunset.
In this magnificent sailing area, the daily legs can be arranged so that there's enough time for short shore excursions and bathing stops! The predominantly very sunny weather makes adequate sun protection necessary. You can refresh yourself in the numerous bathing bays.
