Description

Between turquoise waters, steady trade winds and a fascinating variety of Caribbean cultures, this sailing adventure begins in Puerto Rico and leads via the remote Spanish Virgin Islands and the laid-back USVIs to the vibrant BVIs.
A varied voyage through the different faces of the Caribbean – a harmonious blend of enjoyment, discovery, relaxed island hopping and that typical Caribbean lifestyle.

After a relaxed start in Puerto Rico, varied sailing awaits us: short legs between the islands, peaceful anchorages and ever-changing impressions – from pristine bays to lively spots.

This trip stands for relaxed island hopping, Caribbean joie de vivre, crystal-clear water and a perfect blend of activity and relaxation.

Our trip begins at Marina del Rey on the east coast of Puerto Rico. After taking over the yacht and a relaxed first day – with time to settle in, swim and unwind – we set off on the adventure via Isla Cordillera – a place where you experience true remoteness ('the back of beyond'): turquoise water, tranquillity and unspoilt nature.

From here we sail on through the Spanish Virgin Islands. The islands of Vieques, Culebra and Culebrita captivate with mangroves, rocky coasts, vibrant coral reefs and stunning sandy beaches.

Particular highlights include the fascinating bioluminescence in Mosquito Bay on Vieques, a visit to the famous Flamenco Beach on Culebra and the hike to the lighthouse on Culebrita with sweeping views over the island world.

We then cross – after clearing customs – to the US Virgin Islands and enjoy a quieter, more unspoilt atmosphere there with relaxed anchorages around St John and St Thomas.

From there we continue to the British Virgin Islands. Here classic Caribbean sailing awaits us on short distances between the islands, sheltered waters and perfect infrastructure for sailors.

We explore some of the finest anchorages in the BVIs, including the spectacular rock formations of 'The Baths' on Virgin Gorda as well as legendary spots and beach bars on Jost Van Dyke, Norman Island and around Tortola – pure Caribbean lifestyle.

Our trip ends in Road Town on Tortola, where we bring the voyage to a relaxed close.
