LOFOTEN–TROMSØ – Bodø to Tromsø
It's off to the Far North. We start our journey in Bodø, the southern gateway to the Lofoten Islands and northern Norway. Here we are already north of the Arctic Circle. Across the Vestfjorden between Lofoten and the Norwegian mainland we now sail northwards in stages towards Tromsø. In doing so we not only experience the imposing Lofoten Wall at close quarters, but can also get to know the land and people first-hand during numerous stops. Through the winding waterways north of the Lofoten we then head up to the "Paris of the North". For that is exactly what the Norwegians call the tranquil yet lively Tromsø. From here in past decades numerous expeditions set off towards the Arctic and Svalbard. The famous polar explorer Roald Amundsen also departed from here on his last voyage. Much maritime atmosphere and living history await us in the numerous museums and exhibitions as well. Book your berth or cabin now and experience this exceptional adventure on our exclusively equipped expedition yacht POLARIS.
Expected trip itinerary:
We sail with POLARIS from Bodø through the Vestfjorden northwards. On numerous stops amidst the fascinatingly beautiful Lofoten archipelago you will then experience Nordic nature and way of life at close quarters. Depending on wind and weather our route then takes us either through the wonderful fjords of northern Norway or around the outside of the island of Senja. With Tromsø we finally reach the centre of the North. From here you travel back to Germany comfortably by air. Depending on weather and schedule it may be necessary to cover longer sections of the journey under engine as well. Total distance: approx. 250 nautical miles.
This exceptional trip will be led by our two professional skippers Simon Eder and Sebastian Naumann.
