Sportküstenschifferschein SKS Sail Training
This SKS sail training is aimed at everyone who would like to learn and develop their yacht sailing skills. The focus is on manoeuvre training – tacking, gybing and plenty of man-overboard drills – but also practical navigation on board, current weather observations and drawing the right conclusions from them. And: how does the engine work, how is the electrical system set up and how do I, as skipper, handle the vessel.
Our training vessel 'EMILIO' – a Bavaria 37 Cruiser – is very well equipped and of course SeeBG certified. On our trips, each participant has plenty of time at the helm to practise and master all the manoeuvres.
Our trip starts and ends in Travemünde. Travel arrangements are individual.
This trip is aimed at everyone who already has basic knowledge (150–200 nm) of yacht sailing and for whom luffing up/bearing away should not be unfamiliar terms. Those who do not yet have basic knowledge can also use this trip to gain their first nautical miles and familiarise themselves with the fundamentals of yacht sailing. In this case, an examination at the end of the trip is not yet possible.
Schedule
The sail training takes place from Saturday to Friday. Boarding on Saturday from 10 a.m.; after (safety) briefing, departure for initial manoeuvres is planned after midday. At the end of the trip, the examination for the Sportküstenschifferschein (SKS) takes place on Friday morning.
Notes
Please have a look at our page, where you can see if places are still available on the trip.
Anyone wishing to sit the SKS exam must submit the registration documents (folder/photograph/proof of miles) to us at least 20 days before the exam and transfer the examination fees to the examination board – you will receive all the necessary information when registering for the training course.
