SAILING AREA
The sailing area thrives on contrasts. Whether barren, rugged cliffs, abundant beautiful mandarin and lemon groves, uninhabited islands off the beaten tourist track, or lively nightlife with 'see and be seen' on Capri or in Positano – there's something here for everyone! Neapolitan joie de vivre prevails along the Costiera Amalfitana with its little picturesque villages, tiny harbours and colourful houses packed close together. It is said that nowhere else on earth are the colours so clear and so luminous.

Countless little bays line the cliff coast, the sea shimmers in every nuance between sky blue and emerald green, and numerous grottos invite excursions and voyages of discovery.

Only two of the six Pontine Islands are inhabited: Ponza and Ventotene, the former penal colony, in whose Roman galley harbour one can still moor today. Santo Stefano, Gavi, Palmarola and Zannone are all fragments of volcanoes and have retained their volcanic originality. They enchant with wildly jagged bays, peaks, cliffs and grottos, forming a breathtaking landscape.

In this sea area the wind blows predominantly from westerly directions: in summer the Libeccio from west-southwest is particularly frequent. The thermal winds along the coast also have their charm. Daily breezes can reach 3–5 Bft.
