The Short Range Certificate (SRC)<\/span> is an internationally recognised radio certificate for maritime radio. It authorises you to operate VHF radio equipment on recreational craft in coastal waters. In Germany, the SRC is also called \"Beschr\u00e4nkt g\u00fcltiges Funkbetriebszeugnis\"<\/i> (restricted radio operator's certificate). As soon as a VHF radio system is installed on your sailing or motor boat, at least one person on board must hold an SRC radio certificate \u2013 otherwise the radio may not be operated. That is why the SRC is relevant for all skippers who go to sea with radio-equipped boats, whether beginners or experienced sailors.<\/p>\n

With the SRC radio certificate, you demonstrate that you are proficient in radio technology in the maritime radio service<\/span> \u2013 in particular the operation of VHF radio equipment with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) in the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)<\/span>. Standardised procedures and emergency call protocols ensure that there are no misunderstandings in an emergency and that help can be organised quickly. In short: the SRC radio licence is essential for safe communication and navigation at sea and in many cases is even a legal requirement.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
