End-of-season sailing - Rügen, Hiddensee & Denmark
A four-day trip from Stralsund. During this time we can sail around Rügen, to Hiddensee or, if the wind is favourable, to Denmark.
In any case it will be a relaxed start, as in Stralsund you can set off sheltered in any wind and weather and are guaranteed to be able to sail, whatever the wind direction.
You will be welcomed by our cheerful ship's crew on Wednesday, 30 September from 8 p.m. in Stralsund city harbour. Afterwards there will be something delicious to eat and, with a cold or hot drink, a short briefing by the captain.
The next morning it's "Cast off!" for the first time. You can help directly with setting sail – every helping hand is always welcome.
Still, there'll be plenty of time to enjoy the wonderful views and the fresh sea air.
On Sunday, 04 October we return to Stralsund in the afternoon.
Special Features
Every year we offer trips for individual travellers. Whether alone or in small groups... up to 30 guest crew members can "come aboard" with us and experience an unforgettable sailing trip together. Getting to know each other happens almost by itself!
For solo travellers and small groups who simply want to breathe in some sea air, forget everyday life ashore or have time to themselves, there is the opportunity to take part in a multi-day sailing trip.
After your arrival on board you will be welcomed by the captain and his crew and the most important "ship's rules" will be explained to you. Over a small evening snack you will get to know your fellow sailors and together we will discuss our sailing trip. On the first day of sailing, after breakfast, you will receive a detailed explanation of the ship and the sails. Then the sails are hoisted together and the course is set for our first destination harbour. The adventure begins!
Every day we will sail for an average of 5–8 hours. At the end of each day we will enter a cosy harbour or anchor in a beautiful bay. There the ship is quickly "tidied up" and then there is time for the first drink ashore. Naturally, alongside the sailing there is always plenty of time to get to know the country and its people. Our route is never fixed in advance but depends on wind and weather. Relaxing days with sunshine and swimming are just as possible as days with strong winds and challenging sailing – it's the mix that counts.
On a delivery trip we will also motor from time to time or sail through the night, as a particular destination must be reached within a certain time.
You need not worry about catering during your holiday. The crew of ELEGANT will provide you daily with breakfast, lunch and a hot evening meal. In return we ask you to take turns with the washing-up, which from experience works very well and also contributes wonderfully to getting to know each other. No wonder that at the end of every voyage it is often said:
"See you next year aboard ELEGANT!"
