Out of Flensburg Fjord and then head north. Great Belt or Little Belt? When we reach the north side of the island of Sjælland, we find ourselves in the Kattegat. Our course continues in a north-easterly direction towards the west coast of Sweden. The island world of the West Swedish archipelago lies before us. It stretches from Gothenburg to the Norwegian border and consists of over 8,000 islands and skerries. The coast is known for wave-polished granite cliffs and picturesque fishing villages with red boathouses. Among the best-known destinations in the Bohuslän region are the coastal towns of Smögen, Marstrand, Lysekil, Fjällbacka, Grebbestad, Uddevalla and Strömstad. But nature is also a highlight here. The seal is the heraldic animal of this region; you'll encounter colonies from time to time.

After reaching the Norwegian border, you'll find further interesting destinations on the way towards Oslo, e.g. the island of Tjöme at the entrance to the Oslofjord.

The direct distance we need to cover on this trip is not so long. We therefore have plenty of time to choose some interesting destinations and reach them according to the winds. The actual distance sailed will probably be greater.

What is described here are some examples. The actual course of the trip, the distance sailed and the destinations reached depend on wind, sea state and ultimately also on the crew. It follows the assessment and decision of the skipper.

• Total distance approx. 360 nm.

• Difficulty level 2: No sailing knowledge required - Day legs longer (up to 10 hours) - Overnight stays also at anchor.

• Skipper Martin Zeyer has been sailing professionally since 1991 and has well over 250,000 nm in his wake as skipper and sailing instructor.

• On this trip, ATALANTA will accommodate a maximum of 7 guests (in single berths).
