An unforgettable experience

In April 2026 we set off with a group of colleagues on a multi-day sailing trip in Croatia – for many of us, myself included, it was our first contact with the sailing sport at all. Under the skipperership of Andreas we sailed from Marina Mandalina in Šibenik to Primošten, in surprisingly warm and stable early-season weather.

From the first day it was clear how perfectly the boat had been prepared: clean, technically flawless and ideal for a crew most of whom were standing on board for the first time. Thanks to clear instructions and calm leadership from Andreas, the manoeuvres ran smoothly and safely from the very first moment. This quickly built trust – and initial nervousness gave way to genuine enthusiasm.

The sailing trip took us on to Kaprije, one of the quietest and most charming islands in the region. Along the way we took advantage of the early summer weather for a spontaneous swimming stop in a sheltered bay. For many it was the first time swimming in the crystal-clear Croatian water in the middle of April – a highlight that will stay with everyone.

The days on the water were marked by perfect conditions: sunshine, a light maestral, pleasant temperatures and a crew that grew more confident by the hour. The manoeuvres – berthing, casting off, tacking, gybing – ran so smoothly by the end that you could hardly believe how little experience most had at the start.

After several days together on board, everyone was happy, relaxed and proud of the new experience. The sailing trip not only sparked enthusiasm for sailing but also strengthened the team spirit. For many it was the beginning of a new passion – and for all an unforgettable experience.

Many thanks for this beautiful, lasting memory!

From the first step aboard to a passion for sailing

In April 2026, I had the pleasure of spending a few days on the water with a group of colleagues. For many of us it was the first time ever setting foot on a sailing boat, and that's precisely why the mixture of curiosity, respect and anticipation was palpable from the start.

The weather showed its best side for the early season: sunny, mild and with just the right amount of wind to sail in a relaxed manner, without it becoming too demanding for the newcomers. We headed for various coastal sections and islands, enjoyed the expanse of the sea and even made a spontaneous swimming stop along the way – a moment no one had expected and which became a highlight for many.

The manoeuvres went remarkably precisely and our crew managed them exceptionally well. Although most of us had no prior experience whatsoever, the boat felt familiar after a short time. Everyone could contribute something, and the atmosphere on board became more relaxed and cheerful by the hour. The man-overboard manoeuvre was great fun, allowing each of us to develop a feel for the boat.

The boat itself was in perfect condition: clean, well maintained and technically absolutely reliable, top modern. This allowed us to concentrate fully on the experience without having to worry about minor details. By the end of those days everyone was happy, relaxed and enthusiastic about the new experience. For many it was the beginning of a real fascination with sailing.

simply relaxing and restorative

To mark a farewell celebration, we had the opportunity to spend time with colleagues on a modern sailing catamaran with electric drive – a break that for many of us was far removed from our usual working day. Most of us were standing on a deck for the first time, and that's precisely why the mixture of curiosity and respect for the sea was palpable from the start. Skipper Andreas guided us through the first steps with such calm and clarity that we quickly felt safe.
The weather proved surprisingly kind for the early season: plenty of sunshine, pleasant temperatures and a wind that was perfect for relaxed sailing. We headed for various bays and coastal stretches without committing to specific destinations – the focus was on the experience and the camaraderie of this distinguished group. Along the way we made a spontaneous swimming stop, I'll just say 17.4, which for many of us was a super refreshing experience. Swimming in the clear water whilst the season was only just beginning was a moment nobody will forget in a hurry.
The manoeuvres on board went smoothly and calmly, even though the crew consisted almost entirely of novices. Andreas explained the necessary steps clearly and gave us the feeling of being in control at all times. This created a relaxed, almost playful atmosphere in which everyone could contribute something. The 5-star boat itself was in perfect condition – reliable, well maintained and ideal for a mixed group like ours.
After those days on the water, everyone felt relaxed to have escaped everyday life for a while. The trip not only whetted our appetite for more, but also strengthened our sense of teamwork. For many it was the beginning of a genuine fascination with sailing.

Family sailing – May 2026

A wonderful, relaxed family sailing trip with many little highlights: cats, bays, walks, good food and plenty of time together. The mix of short legs, safe harbours and child-friendly stops worked perfectly – and we're already looking forward to next May in Croatia.
