That's why the protection of the sea and its creatures is also a key theme on our trips. Selected trips also offer hands-on experience.

INMARIS Windjammer Worldwide
Thanks to the excellent information from INMARIS via newsletter, I became aware of the East Greenland expedition with the "Eldorado". I had many questions and was advised patiently, competently and thoroughly by the INMARIS team. Booking went smoothly, and I was kept up to date on the trip right up until departure, with helpful information such as packing lists and more, all delivered in a wonderfully friendly and warm manner.
The price of the trip included a flight from Reykjavik to Kulussuk in Greenland. The whole group met at Reykjavik airport, where we were informed and accompanied by the friendly and well-organised tour guide. On arrival in Greenland, we were taken by off-road vehicle and then by Zodiac to the "Eldorado", which lay at anchor off Kulussuk. Everything went smoothly and was well organised.
On board, we got to know the crew and the scientific expedition leader and were given a thorough safety briefing straight away.
Excursions were undertaken daily throughout the trip. These included trips by Zodiac to the icebergs or glaciers, as well as shore excursions with subsequent hikes to exposed spots in nature. We also visited small settlements and villages. Contact with the Inuit is a particularly lasting experience for me. But the gigantic icebergs and glaciers were also breathtaking, and on the last day we even saw whales and the Northern Lights. It couldn't get any better!!!
In the evenings there were exciting talks, impressive images and films on various topics relating to Greenland and the Arctic regions.
All in all, it was an absolutely extraordinary sailing trip that I can recommend, and one that was completely different from my first sailing trip with the "Santa Maria Manuela" from the Azores to Lisbon.
I booked both trips through INMARIS. The team's expertise, and especially their friendliness, won me over, and I can recommend INMARIS without hesitation.

I was privileged to participate in a trip on Santa Maria Manuela from Funchal via Porto Santo. It was an exceptional experience. A unique opportunity which combines a true maritime experience with extraordinary comfort. The crew was super attentive to the passengers and let guests live the experience on board in several dimensions: both as real sailors, with the chance to climb the masts, work with the sails and take the helm, as well as great excursions on the islands and tours in natural reserves with the dinghy, plus 5-star comfort on board with delicious meals, wine and a very romantic atmosphere!
Heartful congratulations both to the crew of SMM as well as to Esma and Alex and Inmaris for making my dreams come true and extraordinary time onboard! I highly recommend this experience both to enthusiasts experienced in sailing and to the ones who will step onboard for the very first time.

I have already had the chance to take several impressive trips with the ship agency INMARIS aboard legendary tall ships – each one was a unique adventure full of maritime fascination, perfect organisation and unforgettable impressions.
My introduction to the world of windjammers began aboard the majestic SEDOV during the arrival parade for the Hamburg Port Anniversary 2019 – a spine-tingling moment that never let go of me.
This was followed by a spectacular voyage aboard the KRUZENSHTERN from Montevideo to Ushuaia – experiencing South America under full sail was a long-cherished dream.
I set out to sea several times aboard the SANTA MARIA MANUELA:
- once around Madeira and Porto Santo,
- then from Madeira to Tenerife with a swim stop between La Gomera and Tenerife,
- and later once again on the same route – with a very special highlight:
a swim in the middle of the open Atlantic, accompanied by sea turtles and tuna!
Particularly impressive was also my voyage aboard the WYLDE SWAN from Iceland to Greenland – a rugged yet deeply moving experience in Nordic waters.
What unites all these trips: the outstanding care provided by INMARIS, the choice of extraordinary routes and ships, the passion for sailing – and the feeling of being part of a real crew.
A very special thank you goes to Esma and Alex, who, with their experience, warmth and enthusiasm for traditional seafaring, make every single adventure something truly personal.

The week aboard the Running on Waves was thoroughly relaxing. The crew anticipated all our wishes before we even had to ask. The route was breathtakingly beautiful. The ship is simply a feast for the eyes and a floating luxury hotel. Many thanks for a wonderful week at sea.
Sadly, we're back from our sailing trip. And it certainly won't be the last one aboard the Santa Maria Manuela ;). It was simply wonderful. Unfortunately we generally had relatively little wind, but it was lovely all the same. For two days we felt like the only people out on the open sea - no land and no other ship in sight.
We saw some dolphins, turtles and even whales. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and starry skies. If you need some time to relax and switch off completely, then a sailing trip like this is exactly the right thing. Everything was simply perfect.
The crew were very friendly, helpful and open-minded, and the food on board was plentiful and tasty. The organisation on land via Inmaris ran smoothly, and the staff are competent and friendly.
