At the age of 20 I started sailing Hobie Cats, and years later I moved on to cruising on bigger boats. A real improvement: the boat didn't keep capsizing, you don't have to wear a wetsuit, and there's a toilet on board.

Since then I've skippered yachts between 30-58 ft and catamarans between 40-50 ft in the Baltic Sea, North Sea, Mediterranean, Caribbean & Seychelles. The odd offshore regatta has been thrown in too.

I love arriving and setting off. And the wonderful miles in between. I equally enjoy travelling with guests, discovering new places, and becoming a close-knit team as a crew.

In 2015 I then founded Oceans Eleven GmbH and have since been offering sail training trips, particularly for women and couples, in the Baltic Sea and Mediterranean. By now that amounts to around 100 trips a year. In the Baltic Sea I offer trips on my own boats, a Delphia 37 "NIKE" and Sun Odyssey 379 "SKADI", while in the Mediterranean and for worldwide trips I charter through partner companies.
