Segelschule Walensee
We are Segelschule Walensee from Switzerland, and we sail the seas in small groups of max. 6–7 people aboard our lovely sailing yacht Leja, an Elan Impression 45 (built in 2019). You'll find interesting coastal and offshore trips with us all year round.
Our sail training and mile-building trips across Europe combine learning and fun with magical experiences at sea – thanks to our experienced skippers Mischa, Berni and Michel, who have been sailing with heart and passion for many years. Every year at the end of November, we cross the Atlantic and spend the winter in the tropical trade winds of the enchanting Caribbean – we offer Caribbean trips departing from Martinique, Guadeloupe and Saint Martin / the British Virgin Islands.
Our sailing yacht Leja has four cabins: two spacious aft cabins, a roomy bow cabin and a smaller side cabin with bunk beds. Leja has two bathrooms, is equipped with solar panels, radar and AIS, and the fresh water tank holds an impressive 900 litres. We wouldn't want to be without the generous swim platform with outdoor shower. Perfect for enjoying sunsets and jumping into the water :))
Mischa (owner and managing director), Berni and Michel are passionate, experienced skippers who focus on relaxed, team-spirited crew management and love sharing their knowledge in an easy-to-understand way.
Our trips are shared experiences in which everyone gets stuck in as much as they want to. The galley is run together by the crew – in the evenings we usually eat together in restaurants ashore. Depending on the sailing area and the crew's wishes, we stay overnight in harbours or anchor bays.

Ten days you won't forget in a hurry. The route from Saint Martin through the British Virgin Islands is simply dreamy – turquoise-blue water, steady trade winds and short legs among the British Virgin Islands that make sailing pure pleasure. Skipper Mischa guided the crew competently at all times and generously shared his knowledge, without it ever feeling like a training course. The Elan Impression 45 is comfortable and seaworthy in equal measure. Whether snorkelling off Guana Island, a drink at the Soggy Dollar Bar, or a home-cooked dinner in a quiet anchorage in the evening – this mix is what makes the trip so special. Absolutely recommended for anyone wanting to experience the Caribbean from the water!
If you have beginner-level sailing know-how and want to get to know the Caribbean, this Guadeloupe - Dominica - Guadeloupe trip is a very good alternative. Mischa and Martina know Dominica very well and can organise tailored hikes.
All in all, a very good sailing/hiking concept.
