The first light of day has tickled us out of our bunks. Pastel blue with pink streaks presents the early sky. Setting the mainsail as morning exercise. Anchor up. Chain clattering makes tired sailors alert. A gentle breeze pushes us out of the anchorage. Setting the headsail, sheets tight. Released from the protective wall of the island's shelter, the northeast monsoon takes over. Dark blue water breathes white foam crests. On the horizon, red pushes the gentle pink aside. The sun wells up, finally sends Venus behind the scenes. Emma Peel glides through the clarity of the young day, as if it belonged to her alone. The bows of both hulls push through the water. We sit at the foredeck, without a word, just looking, looking, looking, looking...
