"Everything that doesn't appear on the
schedule of a normal charter trip…"
Many things that every aspiring skipper would like to try out
are simply not done on a normal holiday sailing trip with friends or family,
or the relevant specialist equipment is simply not
to be found on board a charter yacht. We carry compre-
hensive specialist equipment for heavy weather and safety, worth
over €30,000, which participants can use in practice.
This enables every aspiring skipper to form their own judgement about the advantages and
disadvantages of the respective systems and methods.
In our home waters "The Solent", such training can be carried out – sheltered by the
offshore Isle of Wight – even (and especially!) in
to carry out safely in the winter season. The early onset of darkness
enables us to conduct many night passages and night approaches.

Maximum 6 participants + skipper, accommodation in double cabins as standard, single cabins at 50% surcharge if available, please enquire.
Notes
Participants should have knowledge at SKS level. However, no
tidal experience is required. The course is practice-intensive and NOT
a sailing holiday!
The course deliberately takes place only in the winter season. This allows us to
generally offer more interesting conditions such as strong winds, fog, rain and
early night passages. On strong wind days we practise in sheltered areas
of the Solent.
