We had a wonderful trip from Kastela. First we sailed south to Dubrovnik and then north almost to Istria. A highlight was our day in force 6-7 winds sailing from Hvar up to Zadar. The weather was still fantastic. Good wind and daytime temperatures of up to 25 degrees.

After taking over the yacht we set off on the first day in the afternoon. We sailed close-hauled to the island of Solta. Here we anchored in a bay. Over chilli con carne and delicious red wine the crew got to know each other better. We talked late into the night and made plans for the days ahead.
On the second day we continued with reaching winds to Korcula in a sheltered bay. There was plenty of swimming. The next day we sailed to the island of Mlejt and visited the Konoba Maran in Okulje bay.
On the fourth day we headed to Dubrovnik. We berthed in Marina Frapa and later went into the old town. In October it's not so busy anymore and we had an excellent meal.
Now we headed north again, once more to Mlejt into a bay. Here we were the only boat at anchor.
The next morning we sailed with following winds to the island of Hvar. We had to find a well-sheltered bay as the wind was due to increase during the night.
The next day we weighed anchor before sunrise. Two minutes later the foresail was set and we headed for Zadar with aft winds of force 6–7. A glorious day's sailing covering almost 80 nautical miles under sail. Initially under jib alone and later under genoa, we reached a top speed of 12 knots and averaged 7.5 knots.
The following day we visited Zadar's Old Town and spent another night in the harbour.
We then continued northwards to Veli Rat. Beneath the light of the lighthouse we spent another wonderful night with a magnificent view of the stars 🌟
Now we plunge into the Kornati island group. With light winds we glide along and moor at a jetty in the south. A visit to the local konoba rounds off our day.
The holiday is slowly drawing to a close. Today we're heading to Primošten. A close-hauled course for a change. One last night at anchor before returning to Kaštela tomorrow.
The last day! 🥲 Still beautiful weather. Unfortunately no wind. We refuelled in Split and covered the final miles to the marina in the dark. One last supper together and then reminisced about the past few days.
It was wonderful and a heartfelt thank you to Croatia Yachting for the excellent organisation, the service and the wonderful boat called Pisch...
