Experience the authentic feeling of sailing on a unique voyage from Hamburg to Kiel.

For five days we live in harmony with wind, waves and the rhythm of a traditional tall ship.
Come aboard the "Artemis". You will meet your fellow travellers and the ship's crew and settle into your cabin.
This time the voyage takes us from the Elbe straight through the Kiel Canal directly into one of the most beautiful sailing areas in Europe – the Danish South Sea Islands.
Together we hoist the sails, take the helm and experience what it's like to be part of the crew on a traditional sailing ship.

The itinerary
Day 1: Welcome aboard (Hamburg)
On Sunday evening at 20:00 it's time to say "Welcome back aboard!" in Hamburg.
After settling into the comfortable cabins and the safety briefing by the permanent crew, there's plenty of time in the cosy saloons or at the on-board bar to toast the reunion and revive old memories of the Lehmkuhl voyage.
Day 2: Down the Elbe & Kiel Canal adventure
We leave the Hanseatic city heading down the Elbe. At Brunsbüttel we pass through the imposing lock system and enter the Kiel Canal.
The passage along the world's busiest artificial seaway offers fascinating views of dense riverside landscapes and huge vessels at eye level. After passing through the locks at Kiel-Holtenau, the Kiel Fjord opens up before us – the gateway to the Baltic Sea.
Days 3 – 5: Sailing with the wind in the Danish South Sea Islands
Now is the hour of traditional seamanship aboard the Artemis. Following the maritime law "The wind determines the course", we cruise for three days through the Danish archipelago and the western Baltic. Lending a hand when setting the 1,050 m² of sail is a matter of honour!
Possible ports of call and highlights depending on wind direction:
Sønderborg: This Danish harbour town captivates with its colourful waterfront promenade and the historic castle right on the Alssund. Weather permitting, disembarkation may take place here at anchor.
Island of Fehmarn: An ideal turning point with a rugged coastal atmosphere.
At anchor: In suitable weather we drop anchor in a sheltered Danish bay. The night at anchor, far from artificial lights and surrounded by the gentle lapping of waves, is one of the most intense experiences of this trip.
Day 6: Farewell (Kiel)
On Friday morning we head for our destination harbour Kiel. After a final breakfast together on board, disembarkation takes place on 14.05.27 at 09:00. We bid farewell to the Artemis – enriched with new sailing memories and refreshed friendships.
The ship's management always endeavours to accommodate the route preferences of the crew as far as nautically and weather-wise possible.
Good to know for crew members
The route is flexible: safety and wind comfort come first. The captain decides daily on the best course.
Comfort & tradition: the Artemis combines genuine tall ship charm with modern comfort such as central heating and 2-berth cabins with private shower/WC.
The allocation of 2-berth cabins: takes place separated by gender.
Whether sailing hands-on or simply enjoying the view and the fresh sea air – this week is all about sailing together, discovering and maritime adventure from Kiel to Kiel.
Embark on the adventure of traditional seafaring and experience a sailing voyage of a very special kind!
Enjoy unforgettable and wonderful moments, come aboard the "Artemis", be part of this sailing adventure – and join in!
