Welcome aboard for an early summer sailing trip in an exceptional sailing area. We want to take a week to explore the coastal landscape and the bays around Shetland. The starting point and destination of our voyage is the island capital Lerwick. In between lie relaxing days at sea, fresh North Sea winds and a varied mix of shore leave, island explorations, nature experiences and longer stretches under sail by day and, weather permitting, sometimes at night.

A visit to the neighbouring island of Fair Isle is planned, where we want to take part in a guided walk to the nesting sites of the endearing puffins under the expert guidance of a ranger.

On Shetland, no point is more than three miles from the sea. Scottish tartans and bagpipes are nowhere to be found; instead, the Viking tradition is kept alive here. The islands are particularly known for their ponies as well as the fine knitwear made from merino wool with traditional Fair Isle patterns.

Victoria Pier is a hub of activity and a starting point for exploratory walks.

If you would like to extend your Shetland stay by a few days, be sure to bring photographic equipment: large bird colonies live on the island of Mousa, the endearing puffins sometimes fly in front of the lens near the lighthouse at Sumburgh Head, and with a little patience seals can also be spotted at the many small bays.
