We sail from the Balearic Islands to Sardinia 4 cabins 4 bathrooms

We sail with a maximum of 6 guests. Each of the 4 cabins has its own bathroom.

This sailing trip is truly a highlight in this year's programme. It offers all facets of cruising. Four islands, countless beautiful bays, lovely little towns and impressive natural harbours. We will need one night passage on the way to Sardinia. During this we will have ample time to enjoy the summer starry sky.

Start of trip
The trip begins in Alcudia on Mallorca. Arrival day is Saturday. After everyone has moved into their cabin, we stock up at the nearby supermarket. Once everything is stowed away, we treat ourselves to local specialities at our favourite restaurant there, right by the harbour.

Cast off
After a relaxed breakfast on Sunday the ship and safety briefing follows. At midday it's "cast off", out of the harbour and sails set. Destination is Ciutadella on Menorca, about 30 nm away. The old town of this truly beautiful little town nestles picturesquely on a long, fjord-like bay where we moor in the town harbour. We stroll through the lanes, try the local gin and enjoy the balmy Mediterranean summer evening before we prepare something delicious in the galley.

We search for Menorca's most beautiful bay
The task for the next few days will be to find the most beautiful bay in Menorca – and that is not so easy with such a large selection!! Where we like it, we drop anchor, swim a few laps around our boat or snorkel along the rocks. Then we move on to the next one as the mood takes us. Whether we sail the south of the island or the north, we will make dependent on the weather.

On Menorca's east side we call at Mahon, one of the world's largest natural harbours. The Genoese Grand Admiral Andrea Doria is said to have remarked that he knew only three safe harbours in the Mediterranean: July, August and Mahon. We wander through Mao's (as the locals call it) winding and narrow lanes, visit the fish and vegetable market under a former monastery's cloister and from there enjoy the wonderful view over the harbour.

Off to Sardinia
The next morning we leave Menorca, destination is the picturesque island of San Pietro in the southwest of Sardinia. But two hundred nautical miles need to be sailed first. That means for us, one day, one night and another day we will be under way. We share the night watches beneath a magnificent starry sky, accompanied by the rushing of the bow wave. Perhaps dolphins will visit us and with a bit of luck we will catch a fish.
After landfall we stroll through the lanes of Carloforte, the tranquil main town of the small island. Days with shorter legs follow and "bay-hopping" is the order of the day. The anchorages around Capo Malfatano are simply a dream. On Friday we head for Cagliari, perhaps accompanied by a few flamingos, which are frequently seen here. In the evening we find a nice restaurant where we round off our Mallorca-Sardinia-Cagliari trip with a delicious dinner featuring Sardinian specialities.
