From Lanzarote to Madeira – eight days on the Atlantic

From the Canary Islands to Madeira: on this trip we leave Lanzarote behind and set course for the flower island. Several days on the open sea make this tour a genuine Atlantic experience.
This trip takes us from Tenerife across the Atlantic to the flower island of Madeira. We cover a considerable distance on the open ocean. The trip combines the experience of a genuine ocean passage with arrival in Madeira's unique landscape.

On board we sail on a watch system – including at night. Everyone belongs to the crew and will be involved in navigation, weather observation, sail handling and boat handling according to their experience. There is enough time to find your own rhythm at sea, to experience the starry sky and with a bit of luck to spot dolphins or whales.

Sailing experience is helpful but not a requirement. More important are team spirit, reliability and a willingness to take an active part in life on board. The trip is suitable for anyone wanting to gain initial offshore experience and nautical miles, or to deepen their knowledge in practice.

In February the climate around the Canary Islands and Madeira is usually mild to pleasantly warm. On the open Atlantic, however, wind, waves and weather can still be demanding. Detailed trip planning therefore depends on current conditions.

Sailing will be on a 43-foot Bénéteau Oceanis. The yacht has three double cabins and one cabin with bunk beds. This provides ample space and comfort for several days at sea. Final cleaning and washing the bedding will be carried out by the crew.
