Off the coast of Tenerife you can expect compact and intensive preparation for the practical examination for the Sportseeschifferschein. In the sailing area around San Miguel we practise the examination-relevant manoeuvres and consolidate safe handling of the yacht, her equipment and navigation systems.

Period: 29.01.2027, 17:00 hrs to 05.02.2027, 10:00 hrs (7 days)

Price: €790 per berth, plus travel to and from, ship's kitty and examination fees

During the training we practise the required manoeuvres under sail and engine. In addition, we focus intensively on seamanship, weather observation, interpretation of forecasts and the use of navigation systems. Particular emphasis is placed on the safe operation and practical application of radar equipment.

The training takes place in the sea area off Tenerife. The mild climate provides good conditions for intensive training even in winter. Wind, waves and the particular conditions between the Canary Islands make for a varied and challenging practical sailing area.

Throughout the training period we live and cook together on board. This leaves ample time, in addition to the training sessions, to repeat procedures, clarify questions and gain confidence in handling the yacht.

On 4 February the official examiners come on board and conduct the practical SSS examination on the yacht on which you have been training.

Requirement: For admission to the SSS examination, the SBF See and the corresponding nautical mile record are required. This means 700 nautical miles after the SKS or 1,000 nautical miles in a responsible position after the SBF See. The documents for examination registration must be submitted in full to the DSV e.V. at least one month before the examination date.

Sailing and training take place on a 43-foot Beneteau Oceanis. Her size and equipment provide good conditions for the intensive manoeuvre and radar training as well as the subsequent practical examination.
