Sailing in the Netherlands IJsselmeer, Wadden Sea, North Sea

Trip description: We will be sailing on the "Bora", a well-equipped, solid vessel. We sail from Warns to Enkhuizen, one of the prettiest towns on the IJsselmeer. The next day we continue to Amsterdam. Here we take time in the evening for a short stroll through the city. We then sail through the North Sea Canal onto the North Sea to Texel. On Texel we hire bicycles and cycle across this remarkable island. Through the Wadden Sea we return to the IJsselmeer to Medemblik. On the last day we sail from Medemblik back to Warns.

Trip costs €470 plus kitty of approx. €180.

Yacht details: The GibSea 126 is called 'Bora'. She is 13.20 m long, 4 m wide, 2 m draught and has a displacement of 9 tonnes. The water tank holds 400 litres, the diesel tank 200 litres. She has 90 m² of sail area close-hauled. 'Bora' has 8 berths in 4 cabins and 2 in the saloon, 10 in total. Maximum occupancy: 7 persons plus skipper.
Equipment: 55 HP Yanmar diesel, autopilot, electric anchor winch, sprayhood, bimini, roller furling genoa, mainsail with slab reefing, 2 toilets, heating, radar, chartplotter, DSC radio, 2 GPS units, 2 echo sounders, Navtex and weather receiver.
Safety equipment: liferaft for 10 people, lifejackets, lifebelts, distress flares and EPIRB.
The fully equipped galley has a cooker with oven and an electric fridge.
