Sailing is freedom, sailing is dynamism and sailing is the fascination of sporting activity and carefree experience of nature.
And sailing also means doing it yourself, making your own decisions and taking responsibility.
So that one day you can confidently and competently skipper your own yacht or a chartered yacht, we want to train you intensively and teach you all the important aspects, from trip planning and preparation through technical knowledge and legal fundamentals to the actual practice of sailing and the vital recovery, harbour and sailing manoeuvres.
Maximum 4 participants:
All our trips take place with a maximum of 4 participants on board, to allow each crew member as much practice time as possible. (On none of our trips is the saloon occupied!)
On our sail training courses for the SBF See, SKS and VDS-Segelschein Yacht in Slovenia, in the charming harbour town of Izola, we teach you all the knowledge and skills you need to pass your examination(s) and, above all, to skipper a yacht independently. All examinations can be taken on board our yacht at the end of the trip. Also available as a combined examination: SBF See practical with SKS practical in one week!
Our course content in theory and practice:
- Taking over and returning a charter yacht
- Technical checks of engine, rig and equipment
- Crew and safety briefing, emergency stations
- Preparing the yacht for departure
- Local weather knowledge, 'reading' clouds and wind
- Setting, stowing and reefing sails – when and how?
- All important sailing manoeuvres, manoeuvring circle, heaving-to and lying-to
- Emergency and recovery manoeuvres
- Berthing and casting off, alongside and with moorings
- Stand-on and give-way obligations and right of way according to KVR and SeeSchStrO
- Navigation, buoyage and sound and manoeuvring signals
- Theory questions on all sailing topics, weather and law
