SNOW AND SAIL 2 – Svolvær to Bodø – PO-13-04-2027-R

Experience the high north of Norway in its most spectacular form: this special voyage combines relaxed sailing with wintry flair in one of Europe's most impressive landscapes. Our journey begins in Svolvaer, virtually the Lofoten centre with good infrastructure and a cosy harbour. Depending on the preferences of our guests, we sail from here along the impressive Lofoten archipelago as well as through narrow sounds and mystical fjords. During numerous shore excursions you can then explore the land and its people on foot. For the return journey to Bodø we set sail again and cross the Vestfjord eastwards to the Norwegian mainland. From here we follow the rugged coast southwards, past deep fjords and craggy mountains to Bodø. A voyage for all who seek sailing, enchanting winter landscapes and true adventure off the beaten track.

Expected trip itinerary:

Depending on wind and weather, we sail from Svolvaer with POLARIS along the Lofoten Wall and through the fascinatingly beautiful fjords and sounds of the archipelago. Then we set course east and cross the Vestfjord in a long passage over to the Norwegian mainland. After various stops in picturesque harbours or cosy anchorages, we finally reach our destination harbour Bodø. From here you can conveniently start your journey home by air via Oslo or Tromsø. Depending on the weather and schedule, it may be necessary to cover longer sections of the voyage under engine. Total distance: approx. 150 nautical miles.
