# Holiday sailing trip from Ponta Delgada (Azores) to Ponta Delgada (Azores)

* Requirements: Sailing experience is an advantage but not a condition.

This holiday sailing trip takes us for a week through the island world of the Azores. We start and finish the trip in Ponta Delgada on São Miguel and sail with our Beneteau 43 to the surrounding islands. The trip combines active sailing with discovering the unique volcanic landscapes and nature of the archipelago in the Atlantic.

On board we shape the sailing routine together. Each person is involved in the boat handling, navigation and sail manoeuvres according to their level of knowledge and interest. No prior knowledge is necessary, so even sailing beginners can learn the basics of seamanship. Experienced sailors can deepen their knowledge in a special sailing area. The focus is on a relaxed sailing experience as a group.

In November the Azores have a mild but changeable climate. We can expect pleasant temperatures but also stronger winds and rain showers. This time of year often offers good sailing conditions. The Atlantic is particularly lively here, and the chances are good of observing dolphins or even whales during the trip, which are native to the waters of the Azores.

Our yacht, a Beneteau 43, is a proven and comfortably equipped cruising yacht. With its four cabins and two heads it offers sufficient space for the crew. It is known for its good sailing characteristics and is equipped with modern navigation electronics as well as all the necessary safety equipment for offshore sailing.

We're sailing from Greifswald on the Baltic Sea to the Canary Islands in autumn 2026 to spend the winter there – and we're looking for motivated crew members who fancy getting to know long-distance sailing, the watch system and life on board, as well as the planning of offshore passages in practice, for one to up to seven weeks. We're sailing on a well-equipped, modern 43-foot yacht. The skipper is an experienced instructor and will gladly teach you everything you still need to become a confident skipper yourself. The trips are ideal for building miles.

The entire voyage will be around 3,000 nautical miles long and last 7 weeks. We sail in one- to two-week legs, covering between 200 and 1,200 nautical miles depending on the sailing area. Each time we call at a pre-determined harbour where a crew change can take place. Sailing is on a modern, ocean-going Beneteau 43 with four cabins.

The route
The individual legs are perfect for mile building. We make long passages and use good weather windows to sail at night as well. Nevertheless, there's enough time for weather-related buffers and occasional stops in beautiful bays or interesting harbours.
