Bay of Biscay coastal trip from La Rochelle to Brest on X-Yachts 442 in a small crew, ideally in an exclusive 2-person crew. From the historic old harbour in La Rochelle we sail along the coast via Ile de Ré, Les Sables d'Olonnes, Ile d'Yeu, Belle-Ile, Ile de Groix, Iles de Glénan, Audierne, Pointe du Raz, Ile de Sein to Brest in western Brittany. Fast direct access by TGV in approximately 3 hours from Paris to La Rochelle. And likewise in only 4 hours from Brest direct to Paris.
Intensive tidal experience whilst island-hopping between the Breton islands. Thorough introduction to tidal navigation by a reliable, German-speaking skipper. Brittany and the French Atlantic coast offer some of the most interesting navigational challenges Europe has to offer an ambitious sailor. Patrick, the skipper and yacht owner, a state-certified offshore skipper (SSS), born in Ireland, speaks fluent German, English and French.
Patrick always sails with a SMALL CREW, preferably just 2 people in the crew, 3 or 4 only on request. This ensures plenty of active participation on deck, at the helm and at the chart table. Furthermore, every crew member has genuinely ample space aboard, so no group stress arises.
The yacht MOONCHILD is a very well-maintained, fast X-Yachts 442, a 13.5m cruiser-racer from the renowned Danish X-Yachts yard, known for excellent sailing characteristics, solidity and a refined interior in Scandinavian style. There are 3 double cabins available, one occupied by the skipper, so with only two crew members each can have their own double cabin.
