Don't just watch – join the crew. Become part of the crew on our classic sailing yacht and experience one of Spain's most beautiful classic yacht regattas directly on board. Classic yachts, competitive racing and Mediterranean regatta life set against a spectacular backdrop. The Vela Clásica Jávea is a special gathering point for classic yachts on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Against the stunning backdrop of Cabo de San Antonio and the bay of Jávea, classic and historic yachts come together and compete in several races.

The Programme
Thursday, 22 July – Welcome aboard
From 3 p.m. we welcome you aboard the yacht at Club Náutico de Jávea.
You move into your cabin and meet the yacht, skipper and the other crew members. This is followed by the safety briefing and we discuss the schedule for the coming regatta days together.
The evening is free. An opportunity for a first stroll along the harbour, a meal together or simply a relaxed evening on board.
Friday, 23 July – Training & regatta opening
After breakfast it's time for the first: cast off.
We use the day for joint sail and manoeuvre training in the bay of Jávea. You get to know the procedures on board LILLI and we assign positions within the crew.
We practise the manoeuvres that need to work later in the race: setting sails, tacking, gybing, sheet work and communication within the crew.
This isn't about perfection. What matters is that we work together as a team and everyone knows their role.
In the evening the regatta's social programme begins. This is where owners and crews of the participating classic yachts meet – the special atmosphere of a classic yacht regatta can now be felt throughout the harbour.
Saturday, 24 July – Race Day
Today things get serious.
After breakfast together we prepare the yacht for the first regatta day and set off alongside the other classic yachts.
Even the passage to the start is an experience: classic yachts under sail, crews making final preparations and the mountains of the Costa Blanca in the background.
Then the starting signal sounds.
Now teamwork on board counts. Sails are trimmed, manoeuvres prepared and the best course sought. You experience directly how a large classic sailing yacht is sailed under regatta conditions.
After the races we return to harbour together.
In the evening the regatta community gathers ashore again. Crews, owners and sailors celebrate together – competitive racing on the water and Mediterranean joie de vivre in the harbour belong together in Jávea.
Sunday, 25 July – Finale & prize-giving
After breakfast our last regatta day begins.
Once more the classic yachts set off together. The final races decide the placings – and by now our guests have long since become a well-practised crew.
After crossing the finish line we return to Club Náutico.
To conclude, the participants gather for the joint prize-giving and the traditional close of the regatta.
After that it's time to say a gradual goodbye.
Our guests' departure is scheduled for around 5 p.m.

You are part of the crew
This offer is explicitly not about being chauffeured on a yacht for three days.
A regatta thrives on teamwork.
Depending on your sailing experience, you'll take on tasks on board together with our skippers and crew. Participants with little regatta experience can also take part and will be briefed accordingly.
Those who already have sailing experience can become more intensively involved in manoeuvres and sail trim.
Active participation in sailing is explicitly welcome – regatta experience is not required.
Maximum 7 guests, in addition to the crew.
