SAILING AREA
Departure and destination is Alimos Kalamaki Marina in Athens, quickly reachable from the airport. Across the Saronic Gulf you reach the Cyclades on the first sailing day.

Kea and Kythnos lie just a stone's throw from Athens; foreign tourists rarely stray here. Both islands have beautiful beaches and a relaxed way of life – ideal for the first or last sailing days. A detour across the Saronic Gulf to Poros, Hydra or Spetses is also worthwhile at the beginning or end of the sailing trip.
Andros and Tinos form the northern end of the Cyclades. Whilst fertile Andros is little touched by tourism, mountainous Tinos with many small coves and idyllic beaches has a special charm. The picturesque villages with cosy tavernas and brilliant white houses with blue doors and shutters are particularly photogenic here. The Chora behind the old harbour offers tasteful shops, cafés and tavernas in narrow lanes. Tinos has one of Greece's most important sanctuaries with the pilgrimage church Panagia Evangelistria.

When you reach Syros, take time to explore Ermoupoli, the 'City of Hermes' with its pastel-coloured palaces and domed buildings, as well as the enchanting medieval Ano Syros, before continuing to elegant coastal resorts and beautiful beaches.
Delos – island of Apollo, once the religious and political centre of antiquity, is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site and archaeological museum. It lies at the heart of the Cyclades and from Kynthos Hill you have a magnificent all-round view of the inner ring of islands.
Paros offers small rocky coves and beautiful sandy beaches. Parikia, the island's charming main town, invites you to linger with its lovely Cycladic architecture. The picturesque fishing harbour of Naoussa is also well worth a visit.

Naxos, the largest island of the Cyclades, is something special! Naxos has only a small regional airport, which makes getting there more difficult, but greatly benefits the charm of this jewel of the Cyclades. Unspoilt villages, long sandy beaches and an utterly charming Chora will captivate you immediately.
The western Cyclades islands of Serifos and Sifnos are wild beauties you'll fall in love with, featuring rugged rocky coasts and barren mountains. They offer tranquillity with picturesque choras, old kastros and small villages with white houses sporting Cycladic-blue doors and shutters. In the evenings the narrow lanes of Sifnos come alive, and thanks to the excellent cuisine it's an island to fall in love with.

Between sailing legs there is ample time on the sailing trip to enjoy enchanting old towns, picturesque harbour villages and the lively bustle in narrow white alleyways.
The Cyclades have an excellent reputation amongst sailors. The Meltemi, a pleasantly dry northerly wind that blows steadily in summer and at times reaches challenging strengths, provides good sailing conditions. Temperatures are quite warm as early as spring; in summer they remain pleasant thanks to the constant wind, and from May to October rain is rare. The sea invites extensive swimming well into November.

LIFE ON BOARD
Sailing experience is not necessary for this holiday trip. It is intended for seaworthy beginners as well as experienced sailors. The character of this sailing trip is active and sporty. The skipper will show you how to handle the sailing yacht, so you'll soon be taking the helm yourself and actively participating in sailing the boat.

The route planning is flexible; together with the skipper, the daily stages are planned taking into account the interests of all crew members, wind, weather and organisational aspects.
At the start of the trip the ship's kitty is set up for all running trip expenses as well as basic provisions on board.

Own transfer to the harbour. The sailing trip starts at the Athens yacht harbour Marina Alimos Kalamaki. Transfer between the airport and marina is easy and quick by express bus X96, which runs half-hourly between the airport and Athens harbour Piraeus and stops directly in front of Marina Alimos Kalamaki (journey time approx. 45 min: €6/person).
