Mile building from Franeker (NL) to Laboe (D) aboard the classic yacht Quadra

Building miles and keeping watch at night? Then sail with us on one of our mile-building voyages across the North Sea.

Mile building from Franeker to Laboe
At the end of April you can sail with us from Franeker in the Netherlands to Laboe on the German Baltic coast. On the Wadden Sea you'll get used to the routines on board. As always, we make a stop at Terschelling, one of our favourite Wadden islands. Here you can visit the atmospheric village. Or take a walk or cycle ride through the dune and woodland landscape.

Next we sail out through the tidal inlet and head towards Germany above the Dutch and German islands. If the wind and tides allow, we'll visit Helgoland. This charming rocky island is characterised by steep red cliffs, diverse bird colonies and is famous for its 47-metre-high rock formation "Lange Anna". As soon as the tides are favourable, we sail to Brunsbüttel, where the Kiel Canal begins. Sailing is not permitted here, so we motor to Kiel and admire flowering rapeseed fields, large cargo ships and various railway bridges along the way. After passing through the canal, we sail a little further on the Kiel Fjord before the voyage ends in Laboe.

During our mile-building trips, the focus is on sailing and covering greater distances. This can also mean sailing through the night, for which watches are arranged. Alongside the sailing activities, however, you also have time to relax, read, swim or explore ashore.
Being out in the fresh air all day invariably creates a healthy appetite. That's why our ship's cook spoils us daily with a hearty breakfast as well as a balanced lunch and delicious dinner.
You will be accommodated in a 2-berth cabin. Bed linen and towels are provided.
