From the Baltic Sea to the North Sea – from Kiel to Norddeich on a two-master

This voyage between the seas is always full of surprises and one for true adventurers. Sometimes we need to reach the German Wadden Sea at full speed, sometimes we can visit Denmark once more before attempting the crossing. From leisurely Wadden tours and stormy seas to autumn in the Danish South Sea Islands, anything is possible – entirely dependent on wind and tides.

Through the Kiel Canal we then head out along the Elbe towards the East Frisian coast, where we shall eventually reach the harbour of Norddeich.

A varied and diverse voyage awaits us. We'll be sailing on open waters, through narrow channels, passing through locks and experiencing the fascination of canal travel. And of course we'll create culinary highlights together.

What's special about a sailing trip with the Pegasus? Thanks to her shallow draught she can (weather permitting) call at all the East Frisian Islands – from Borkum and Norderney to Spiekeroog and Langeoog. We've even regularly visited the tiny island of Neuwerk in recent years.

On the first day of sailing you'll receive a comprehensive explanation of the ship and sails after breakfast, along with a safety briefing. Then together we'll hoist the sails and set course for the first destination harbour. The adventure begins! Together with the captain and mate you'll set sails, carry out manoeuvres and stow the sails again before reaching the harbour we're heading for. Alongside active sailing, you can relax on deck, enjoy yourself, read, chat, peel potatoes, play board games, ask the crew endless questions, steer the ship (under supervision), practise knots, knit, and much more....

Meals are prepared either whilst under way or in harbour. Guests prepare the meals together in small groups (according to a galley rota) and are supported by a trip leader. The trip leader does the shopping in advance and provides the recipes. They're on hand as a contact person when cooking.

The trip will take place on the two-masted clipper Pegasus and be accompanied by an experienced and qualified crew. There will be 6–18 guests on board. The Pegasus has a very spacious saloon which receives plenty of daylight through the deck hatches and is therefore pleasantly bright. It's divided into two parts: a comfortable lounge area and a dining area. On the Pegasus there are 7 spacious and bright cabins in total, of which 5 cabins have 2 berths and 2 cabins have 4 berths. All cabins have their own washbasin with hot and cold running water, mirror, heating, opening porthole, 220V sockets and storage space. The berths are freshly made up with sheets and pillowcase; a duvet can also be hired if required.
